Bonavista has many recreational facilities to offer to the citizens of Bonavista and visitors too!  Bonavista Cabot Stadium, a modern and safe children's playground, several scenic walking trails, soccer and softball pitches, picnic areas and much more.  Hunting and fishing, commercial cod fishery, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, and sight seeing...Bonavista has something to offer everyone.

About the Facility

Bonavista Cabot Stadium has an ice surface measuring 85’ by 185’ with a general seating capacity for over 1100 spectators. The stadium can also accommodated over 2000 people with no ice surface.

Amenities include locker rooms, the Dean Little Multi-Purpose Room, canteen services, and skatesharpening services. The Stadium presently is operational year round for seasonal activities and events.

Participate in recreational or competitive hockey leagues, figure skating, curling, general skating and special events.

Rentals

Cabot Stadium is available to rent for ice time or social events. Wither you are planning a birthday or need a meeting place. We are happy to accommodate you and your guests to ensure your day is memorable. Please contact the stadium manager for scheduling.
 

General Rental: $80.00 plus tax
Birthdays: $61.95 plus tax
Locker Rental:$75.00 (yearly)

Current Events Schedule

WEEKLY SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
Mondays 10:00-11:00 AM:
Skating for children 5 years and under, accompanied by an adult.
Admission: $2.00 per child (no fee for adults)

Tuesdays and Thursdays1:00-2:00 PM:
Adult skating. Admission: $2.00 each.

Thursdays 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM:
Curling for Fun and Exercise.
Bring a team of 4 or just come along and enjoy a game of curling with a friend.
(Not a league all are welcome) Admission: $5.00 each

Walking Trails
 
Old Day’s Pond Boardwalk


·        Enjoy a nice leisurely walk around Old Day’s Pond boardwalk.

·        1 km walk

·        has numbers viewing platforms and even a few gazebo to enjoy the view.

·        You can feed the ducks




White Rock Trail


·       Starts at the foot of White Rock and continues on Old Catalina Road
until it meets with The Track and Confederation Drive outside of
Bonavista


·        Aprox. 3km trail


The Track Trail


·        Starts on Confederation Drive by Luxury Estate

·        Passes by Beaver Pond and continues
 


Cape Shore Trail


·       Approx. 6 km walk

·       trail is marked with red and white markers

·       very scenic and passes by the John Cabot Municipal Park, Bonavista Lighthouse, Cabot Crafts and the Dungeon









Bonavista has Two Softball Fields. 

One is located adjacent the playground and the other (larger field) is located behind the stadium.
