Notice: Amendment to Short-Term Rental Accommodation Regulations

The Town of Bonavista wishes to advise residents that, at the Regular Meeting of Council held on June 29, 2026, Council approved an amendment to the Short-Term Accommodation Regulations, specifically Regulation 5(c).
The amendment allows for one (1) short-term rental accommodation on streets containing fewer than ten (10) dwelling units, provided all other requirements of the Short-Term Accommodation Regulations are met.
Regulation 5(c) now reads:
“No more than ten percent (10%) of the dwelling units on any street shall be approved for short-term rental accommodations, out of concern for traffic, parking, noise and vacant premises concerns. A street containing fewer than ten (10) dwelling units may be permitted a maximum of one (1) short-term rental accommodation, subject to compliance with all other requirements of these Regulations.”
This amendment is effective immediately. Anyone considering applying for a short-term rental accommodation is encouraged to contact the Town Office to discuss the application requirements and determine eligibility.
