Tourist Accommodation Tax

Beginning January 1, 2026, the Town of Bonavista will introduce a 4% tax on the nightly rate of all tourist accommodations. Accommodation providers will be responsible for collecting this tax and remitting it to the Town on a quarterly basis.
All revenue generated through the Tourist Accommodation Tax will be reinvested directly into the community, supporting infrastructure improvements, community services, and local development initiatives.
To help with the transition, the Town will be providing informational materials and hosting an information session in the coming months to explain the implementation process and address any questions from accommodation owners and residents.
