  • Vehicle Wrecks

    The Town of Bonavista would like to remind residents of their responsibilities under the Occupancy and Maintenance Regulations (Section 2.31), which require that all properties be kept free of debris. This includes vehicles that are wrecked, discarded, or in an abandoned condition. Maintaining clean and safe properties helps protect property values, improves community appearance, and reduces environmental concerns. Residents who currently have vehicle wrecks on their property are asked to arrange for their removal as soon as possible. If assistance is required, the Town can help coordinate removal. Property owners may contact the Town Office to have vehicle wreckage added to the bulk collection list, with scheduled pickups taking place throughout June and July.   • 2026 Bulk Garbage Curbside Collection

    Bulk garbage collection for Bonavista will be held on the designated day for your area. Registration is required for pick up. You must call or email the Town Hall to schedule collection. It may take several days for all bulk garbage items to be removed from all residences in the area. For example, if you are scheduled for curbside pick-up on Monday, if there are a high number of scheduled collections, the pickup may occur on the next day. Register for Curbside Collection: To arrange for bulk garbage curbside collection please contact the Town Hall. Call: 1-877-571-9185 or 709-468-7747 Email: info@townofbonavista.com Bulk collection Guidelines: Place items at your own curb by 8 a.m. Only items placed on the curb will be removed. Municipal employees will not pick up items throughout your property. Garbage must be accessible and boxes free of snow/debris All items must be bagged or bundled and tied. Scattered or loose items will not be collected. Car wrecks will not be accepted during this bulk collection. However, please contact town hall to arrange for pick up throughout June and July. A limit of 500 lbs or one pick-up load (whichever is less) will be collected from each household. Bulk items will not be picked up after the scheduled collection days. DIVISION 2 – Old Catalina Road – May 11th It comprises all the areas of Bonavista known as Old Catalina Road east of Folley Hill, including Chapel Hill and Riverstyx Road, and the south side of Randell’s Road, including Reader’s Lane and Bonavista Retirement Home. DIVISION 3 - Bakeapple Marsh – May 19th Comprising all the area of Bonavista from the north side of Randell’s Road to the south side of Groves Lane including Bakeapple Marsh, Canon Bayley Road, Mount Prospect Street, Russelltown Road, Strathie’s Road, Cooper’s Hill & Collier’s Pond Road. DIVISION 4 – Mockbeggar – May 25th Comprising all the areas of Bonavista known as Mockbeggar and Rolling Cove from Walkham’s Bridge to Cove Bridge including the west side of Church Street. DIVISION 5 - Cellar Hill – June 1st Comprising the areas of Bonavista from the north side of Groves Lane to the south side of Mouland’s Lane including Cellar Hill and Swyers Hill. DIVISION 6 - Red Point – June 8th Comprising all the area of Bonavista known as Red Point Road and the west side of Cape Shore Road from Swyers to Red Cove Road and from the north side of Mouland’s Lane including the east side of Mead to the intersection of Dunn’s Road / Cape Shore Road and west side of Dunn’s Road to Mouland’s Lane. DIVISION 7 - Bayley’s Cove – June 15th Comprising the area of Bonavista known as Bayley’s Cove from the north side of Red Cove Road including Cape Shore, the east side of Dunn’s Road and the east side of Sebastian Drive up to 123 Sebastian Drive (just before Cooper’s Hill).
