The Town of Bonavista would like to remind residents of their responsibilities under the Occupancy and Maintenance Regulations (Section 2.31), which require that all properties be kept free of debris. This includes vehicles that are wrecked, discarded, or in an abandoned condition. Maintaining clean and safe properties helps protect property values, improves community appearance, and reduces environmental concerns. Residents who currently have vehicle wrecks on their property are asked to arrange for their removal as soon as possible. If assistance is required, the Town can help coordinate removal. Property owners may contact the Town Office to have vehicle wreckage added to the bulk collection list, with scheduled pickups taking place throughout June and July. Bulk garbage collection for Bonavista will be held on the designated day for your area. Registration is required for pick up. You must call or email the Town Hall to schedule collection. It may take several days for all bulk garbage items to be removed from all residences in the area. For example, if you are scheduled for curbside pick-up on Monday, if there are a high number of scheduled collections, the pickup may occur on the next day. Scattered or loose items will not be collected. Car wrecks will not be accepted during this bulk collection. However, please contact town hall to arrange for pick up throughout June and July. A limit of 500 lbs or one pick-up load (whichever is less) will be collected from each household. Bulk items will not be picked up after the scheduled collection days.
