- Vehicle Wrecks
As per the Town of Bonavista's Occupancy and Maintenance Regulation (2.31), property shall be free from debris, including any vehicle that is in a wrecked, discarded, or abandoned condition. Residents who have vehicle wrecks on their property are asked to have them removed as soon as possible. Residents are reminded that the tax payment deadline for all taxes owing is April 30, 2025. Unless a payment plan is in place, any unpaid amounts may result in a disconnection of services as per Part VII Division 10 (S.160) of the Towns and Local Service Districts Act. URBAN AND RURAL PLANNING ACT, 3000 NOTICE OF REGISTRATION TOWN OF BONAVISTA MUNICIPAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 3, 2024 AND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS AMENDMENT NO. 3, 2024 TAKE NOTICE that the Town of Bonavista Municipal Plan Amendment No. 3, 2024 and Development Regulations Amendment No. 3, 2024 adopted on 12th day of August 2024 and approved on January 13, 2025, have been registered by the Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs. THAT the Town of Bonavista Municipal Plan Amendment No. 3, 2024 and Development Regulations Amendment No.3, 2024 come into effect on the day that this notice is published in The Newfoundland and Labrador Gazette. Anyone who wishes to inspect a copy of these documents may do so at the Town Office during normal working hours.
- Notice: NEW Snow Clearing & Ice Control Policy
On January 13, 2025, during a regularly scheduled meeting, the Council approved a new policy focused on snow clearing and ice control. This policy aims to enhance public safety and improve accessibility throughout the community by ensuring timely and effective management of winter weather conditions. The Town of Bonavista is responsible for the maintenance of public road rights-of-ways within the geographical boundaries of the Town of Bonavista with the exception of the provincially owned and operated roads ( Confederation Drive, John Cabot Drive, Ryan's Hill Road, Campbell Street, Church Street, Cape Shore Road, Hospital Road, Station Road, Coster Street, Elliston Road, and Spillar's Cove Road. ) This policy outlines the standard procedure by which the Town of Bonavista conducts its snow-clearing and ice-control operations during the winter season. This policy is enforced during the period of December 1 to April 15 or during any time in which snow-clearing operations are deemed necessary by the Municipality. NOTE: There will be no deviation from the priorities in this policy except for medical emergencies that take place during extreme snow events. Friday, December 27th - DOUBLE RUN Weekly pickups that are normally on Thursday (26th) and Friday (27th) will be picked up on the 27th. Monday, December 30th - DOUBLE RUN Weekly pickups that are normally on Tuesday (31st) and Wednesday (1st), will be picked up on the 30th. Friday, January 3rd - DOUBLE RUN Weekly pickups that are normally on Thursday (2nd) and Friday (3rd), will be picked up on the 3rd. Anything that is missed on one day, will be picked up the following day!
